WELCOME NOTE

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the L Symposium on Operational Research - SYM-OP-IS 2023. This year’s organizers are the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in cooperation with numerous other higher education and research institutions and societies.

SYM-OP-IS is an international symposium with a long-standing tradition. It has been organized annually since 1974, gathering together researchers, business representatives and experts on operational research in order for them to exchange scientific and technical information and experiences, and present new results achieved in the development and application of operational research methods, models and techniques. The Symposium Programme comprises plenary lectures and numerous sections that encourage exchanging ideas among academia and industry and ensure a valuable mixture of theoretical and practical knowledge of operational research. In addition to standard SYM-OP-IS sections, this year’s Programme will include a section entitled “History of Operational Research” to mark the 50th anniversary of the Symposium.

SYM-OP-IS 2023 will be held in Hotel Omorika on Mount Tara in the period September 18-21, 2023.

• Notification of acceptance to authors: June 17, 2023. July 10, 2023.
• Registration fee payment deadline: August 23, 2023.
• Preliminary Symposium Programme : September 1, 2023.
• Event dates: September 18 – 21, 2023.
